Messaging the Parties
CanDACC’s Custom System contains a “Messages” tab that allows the Adjudicator, Parties, Representatives, and CanDACC to message one another. If a message is sent through CanDACC’s Custom System, everyone who can access the adjudication will be able to view the message. This feature is designed to prevent ex parte communications. In this situation, an ex parte communication is when one Party and an Adjudicator communicate in the absence of the other Party.
After a message is sent through CanDACC’s Custom System, an email will be sent to all individuals who have access to the adjudication, advising that a new message is available on CanDACC’s Custom System.
FAQ: If the Respondent has not responded to the Notice of Adjudication, will they receive an email after a new message is sent through CanDACC’s Custom System?
Yes. If the Respondent has not responded to the Notice of Adjudication, the Respondent will receive an email fromcommunications@candacc.ca after a new message is sent through CanDACC’s Custom System. The email will contain the subject line of the message. The body of the email will direct the Respondent to CanDACC’s Custom System to view the message.
Use of Personal Email Accounts
For security and confidentiality reasons, Adjudicators should avoid emailing the Parties through their personal email accounts. For further information, Adjudicators are asked to contact CanDACC at authority@candacc.ca.
