Canada Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts (“CanDACC”) is the Adjudicator Authority under the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act. As the Adjudicator Authority, CanDACC is responsible for administering construction-related adjudications and for developing and providing initial training and continuing education for adjudicators. CanDACC derives its powers from the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act, the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Regulations (Dispute Resolution), and the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Regulations (Criteria, Time Limits, Interest and Circumstances):

What is Adjudication?

Becoming an Adjudicator

Only Adjudicators listed in the Adjudicator Registry are permitted to conduct adjudications and make Determinations under the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act. Information on how to become an Adjudicator is available on the Certification Process page of our website.

Commencing an Adjudication

The adjudication process commences when the Claimant provides the Respondent with a Notice of Adjudication (and sends CanDACC an electronic copy). Further information on how to commence an adjudication is available on the Commencing an Adjudication page of our website.
